Museums 2.0
Museums in the Digital Age: My First Article with Ball Bearings Magazine
In November 2018, my first article as a staff writer for Ball Bearings Magazine was published. Titled "Museums 2.0," the piece explores how museums are evolving to stay relevant in an increasingly digital world. From mobile apps to interactive exhibits, institutions are embracing technology to enhance visitor engagement and educational value.
The article highlights innovations at both local and regional institutions, including the David Owsley Museum of Art at Ball State University—where I also worked—and Newfields (formerly the Indianapolis Museum of Art). While DOMA has begun integrating iPad-based applications into its programming, Newfields has made significant strides, incorporating technologies like motion-sensing games, projection mapping, and interactive kiosks, while also transforming its outdoor space into an immersive extension of the museum experience.
